TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - CEO of Indonesian ride-hailing app company Go-Jek, Nadiem Makarim, visited Vice President Jusuf Kalla (JK) at his office in Central Jakarta to discuss transportation issue in Jakarta, Tuesday, July 12.

"Pak JK highly prioritizes transportations, especially in Jakarta. As well as with Mr. Governor," he said after the meeting.

Nadiem met with VP Jusuf Kalla for about an hour at 11:30. Accompanied by Go-Pay CEO Aldi Haryopratomo, they talked of Gojek's intention in supporting transportation in the capital.

"[Such as] the payment, the ride-sharing technology that we have, and various things in order to improve quality of the public transportation in Jakarta," he said.

Nadiem explained to Kalla about GoJek's function outside of transportation service as the application also supports the economy in the country through the improvement of the Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs).

Besides, he mentioned that Gojek has now expanded its business abroad. "[It is] now available in Thailand, Vietnam, Singapore, and the Philippines," Nadiem said, updating his company's progress to the vice president.
